EU Parliament : Impacts of sourcing DRC raw materials

On February 17, 2025, Resource Matters addressed the Subcommittee on Human Rights of the EU Parliament, highlighting the impacts of sourcing critical raw materials in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Deputy director Jean Claude Mputu emphasized that the EU–DRC minerals agreement must treat resource governance, energy access, and corporate accountability in the mining sector as shared responsibilities, ensuring human rights and environmental standards are respected in the DRC mines and delivering tangible benefits to Congolese people.
