Philippe Masudi
Strategic minerals project officer
Philippe Masudi Yongela is a Projet Officer at Resource Matters in Lubumbashi, where he contributes to the organisation’s research, advocacy and programmatic work on mining governance and strategic minerals for the energy transition in the Democratic Republic of Congo. In this role, he works closely with Congolese civil society partners to strengthen transparency, accountability and community engagement in the extractive sector.
Before joining Resource Matters, Philippe worked with Justice Pour Tous in South Kivu. He managed mining governance projects and coordinated the Makuta ya Maendeleo consortium, strengthening local civil society engagement and partnerships with provincial institutions. Earlier in his career, he also served as focal point for the Congo-Afrique review in Bukavu, supporting the dissemination of research and debate on governance and development issues.
Philippe holds a degree in Philosophy and Society, with a specialization in environmental philosophy, from the Université Officielle de Bukavu. Alongside his research and advocacy work, he has taught philosophy and social sciences at several higher education institutions in the region.
Philippe brings strong expertise in field research, capacity building and advocacy, contributing to efforts to promote transparent and accountable governance of natural resources in the DRC.
