Just Energy Transition Minerals Challenge (USAID)
The Just Energy Transition (JET) Minerals Challenge was a global initiative supported by USAID to promote transparency, accountability, and integrity in the fast-growing green minerals sector. It supported innovative solutions to reduce corruption risks across supply chains, strengthen oversight of licensing and revenue flows, and encourage responsible practices among public and private actors. By combining financial support, technical assistance, and global networking, JET aimed to scale approaches contributing to a more equitable energy transition.
Our organisation was selected as an awardee and received support through this initiative. Although the program was discontinued following a stop-work order affecting USAID-funded activities, it underscored the critical role of governance and accountability in ensuring that mineral wealth benefits producing countries and communities.
