Side Event Paris Peace Forum 2025 : Geopolitics, Communities, and the Future of the DRC’s Minerals

At the Paris Peace Forum 2025, Resource Matters participated as a speaker in a high-level session organized by Global Witness on “Geopolitics, Communities, and the Future of the DRC’s Minerals,” which explored how growing global demand for transition minerals intersects with local realities in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

Bringing together civil society, researchers and international partners, the discussion examined the risks of conflict, exclusion, and exploitation linked to mineral extraction, and highlighted the need for stronger governance, transparency, and accountability to ensure that mineral wealth benefits communities rather than fuels instability.
