Fiscal Transparency Innovation Fund

The Fiscal Transparency Innovation Fund (FTIF) is a U.S. government initiative that supports efforts to strengthen fiscal transparency and accountability worldwide. Since 2012, the U.S. State Department and USAID have used the fund to assist governments and civil society in improving budget openness, public financial management, and transparency in sectors such as natural resource extraction. By fostering collaboration between public institutions and civil society, promoting legislative reforms, and developing innovative tools for sharing budget information, FTIF plays a key role in advancing transparency and accountability. The FTIF has supported the Makuta consortium in its work to enhance fiscal transparency of subnational revenue flows in the mining sector.
