Congo Epela : how to navigate the platform

Congo Epela is an interactive tool that displays the most cost-effective solutions for electrifying every populated area in the DRC, as well as other data useful for analyzing electrification, such as electricity demand, energy sources, power grids, and more. The tool is deliberately focused on providing electricity to households through a combination of centralized (grid) and decentralized (mini-grids and solar panels) electrification solutions, rather than relying solely on centralized solutions.

The tool is the result of a collaborative effort by Resource Matters (coordinator), several academic partners as well as Congolese civil society organizations that are members of the Mwangaza Network, a coalition of Congolese NGOs dedicated to helping rebuild the electricity sector in the DRC. It has also received feedback from the multi-stakeholder “Core Group”.
