Podcast - Qui perd, qui gagne ? Ep. 11: "The challenges of mining subcontracting"

In the Democratic Republic of the Congo, subcontracting work in key economic sectors such as mining has often been awarded to foreign companies. In 2017, the parliament passed a law to try to address this issue and revive the national economy. However, according to the regulatory authority created to enforce the law, the DRC was still losing nearly 8 billion per year in 2023 due to fraud that circumvents the law. Cases of embezzlement and internal misappropriation are said to cause additional losses.
