The DRC government has suspended cobalt exports since February 2025. This suspension is set to expire on June 22, 2025, and it remains unclear whether the measure will be extended. The goal was to drive up prices by reducing the supply of cobalt on the market. And that is indeed what has happened, at least in part, as the price of cobalt has stabilized around $33,000 per ton on the global market in recent weeks. But what does the future hold? And what other consequences has this measure had?

All these points are covered in this episode, produced by Actualité.cd, in collaboration with Resource Matters.
